Beds come in many sizes, shapes and designs in
today's modern world. Beds are more than a piece of furniture
to merely sleep on they provide a place to relax and unwind with a partner or to
curl up with your favorite novel or to watch a good movie on a sick day at home.
With all of the artists and manufacturers with incredible design teams, the
bed
is now a major part of your bedrooms decor'. There are majestic
beds that fill the room with the elegance and splendor of towering timbers to
beds with simple lines of an uncomplicated yet equally sophisticated design, and
there are the new contemporary platform beds that give your bedroom that open
air feel. Whatever bed you choose for your bedroom, they all need sheets
and comforters to complete the bedroom decor. Selecting your sheet and
comforter sets should be easy, so we have provided some simple guidelines to
follow:

Measuring Mattress Depth:

  • Measure only your bare mattress, by removing your
mattress pad, linens, blankets and any other bedding.

  • Use a ruler or tape measure (as shown) to measure the
    depth from seam to seam.

  • A pillow top mattress can extend higher than the measurement from seam
to seam, so we often recommend placing a ruler on a hard edge of your box
spring or bed frame and estimating the highest point of your mattress
    (including the pillow top).

  • Using this guideline, measure in several places to ensure
that you have the right fit.

  • When shopping for your comforter and you have a pillow top mattress be
sure to order the extra 21" drop so that your comforter hangs nicely at the
    mattress seam.

Measuring Box Spring Depth:

Box springs are typically either 9” in depth, or some new
box springs are made to 4” or 5” depths. These 4” to 5” low profile box
springs are often designed for use with very deep mattress, so that the entire
bed does not become too high off the ground. Please make sure to also measure
your box spring depth for your allergy encasing.

  • Measure only your bare box spring.

  • Use a ruler or tape measure to measure the depth from
edge to edge (similar to measuring your mattress depth).
